We have all seen the many posts, online courses and coaches prodding us to leave our 9-5… but are you really an entrepreneur at heart? Here are 5 signs that are indeed built to withstand the pressures and challenges that the entrepreneurial life brings.
1. YOU CAN MOTIVATE YOURSELF
Once the alarm clock goes off… it’s go time! As an entrepreneur, you have to be intrinsically motivated. You have to be able to work hard, stay focused and clock out when ALL the necessary tasks are complete. You will not have a boss but your clients or customers will definitely be holding you accountable and your profits will also give you an honest evaluation of your progress. Having the ability to thrive without the structure of a traditional job is crucial if you want to be a successful entrepreneur.
2. YOU ARE A CREATIVE THINKER
Dare to be different! Being able to stand out and conjure up new ideas for your business is what defines the success of an entrepreneur. Standing out from the crowd is what will set you apart in any industry. Only you can be you. We are all born with a unique quality but only certain people are bold enough to step out and not only show the world that gift but also profit from it. You have to step out and let your light shine!
3. YOU SURROUND YOURSELF WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE
Your circle is your future. You have to be able to surround yourself with mentors, people who are experienced in your industry and can help you further your goals. On the other hand, you have to be able to recognize toxic people. Toxic people can slowly drain your energy and distract you from your goals. So if you are able to discern people’s intentions and surround yourself with people that support you, you are definitely going to be a great entrepreneur.
4. YOU ARE FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE
As an entrepreneur, you will control all of the money that you earn and what happens to every cent. Whether you choose to reinvest your earnings back into your business, buy a new car or set aside a portion for your retirement, the choice is up to you. So you have to be responsible and make the decisions that will help grow your business.
5. YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF TO BE AN INTROVERT
Introverts rule! Despite popular belief, introverts thrive as entrepreneurs because they aren’t afraid to work alone. Introverts can focus for long periods of time and they tend to think even the smallest details through. Extroverts also make great entrepreneurs but introverts definitely possess traits that are often slept on by the business world. Even if you are not the most outspoken person, entrepreneurship may still be for you.
